Protein in urine & high blood pressure?

I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Yesterday when I went to the doctor I had protein in my urine and my blood pressure was up a little bit. It was 148/76 in one arm, and 146/78 in the other. The doctor said he was going to keep a watch on it. He didn't seem to worried. But of course I am. I go back Monday. Could this be preeclampsia? Oh he did a l exam and said I was a fingertip dilated. Is that good? Thanks everyone.
