Should i make him pay child support or not ?

hi there dis ia a long story but i really need help.. first of im 9 months pregnant n im about to give birth anyday soon.me n mah boyfriend start out good was living with him and his fam. in cali for almost a year then i got pregnant everything change.at first he was a gud guy always there with me we do things together but then wen i was 3 months pregnant everything change.we argue alot hes never there for me like he use to, always out at nite with his friends smoking weed, he calls me names he even put his hands on me..like he really dont care i tried everything to make him stop his stupid ways but it wont stop most weekend hes not home he sleeps over at his friends house wenever hes out clubbin and partying and it really hurts me bcoz i need his support more den anybody i wanted him to be there with me everyday since im pregnant but it really dnt matter to him.i sumtimes beg him to stay but it wont stop him he sed he loves me but the way he treated me wasnt really love at all.so one day he was out wit his friends and didnt get home until 1am and wen he got home he sed he gotta go bak at 5am to kick it wit his friends it really hurts me that nite i beg him not to go but he just left and sed that he rather kick it wit his friend den being wit me he didnt get home until 10am the next day..i was hurt it got me to tha point were i pack mah stuff and left to another state...idk if that was rite thing to do but i was really hurt but since den we tried to wrk things out try to get back to each other but its not wrking at all so now im bout to have our bby and im not wrkin at dis moment but i really need hellp to buy to buy bby stuff im tryin to apply for welfare in cash but at the same time i dnt want to bcoz i heard all that money that tha government is payin me hes gonna have to pay bak..but hes unemployed and im thinkin if i want to make him pay child support or not..and at the same time i need help to support my child but idk if im doing the rite thing which is trying to apply for chilsd support or not
