Is it proper to refer to a person's case as cogent or uncogent?

If someone builds a case for a given position, which might include both arguments by deduction and arguments by induction, is it proper to refer to the case as a whole as either cogent or uncogent? Or is that improper, since the case might be made up of deductive arguments (which are either sound or unsound, not cogent or uncogent)?
