Whats wring with my comcast box, and how can i fix it??? PLEASE HELP!!?

this morning i had unplugged my cable box, while it was on (stupid, i know) to plugg in my curler, but i wasnt able to plug it back in until i got out of school. but when i plugged it in, it says "0" where the time, or channel usually is and my tv screen is blank! i think it may have erased the memory. what can i do? Dont say call comcast! i need to know how to fix it myself!! please help me :(
