Where's Matilda - and who is she?

Good luck with that one! I can't find anything about it in any searches. It might be a historical reference to the daughter of King Henry I and Mother of King Henry II, Matilda, who engaged in a civil war with Stephen of Blois over the crown of England. If you can find notes on the original work, that might be helpful in discovering who this Matilda was.
