Artificial insemination to impregnate your heifers?

artificial insemination to impregnate your heifers how hard is that to do instead of raising a bull calve. Could a Vet come over to do the A.I or is there a video how to do this I know there a school for this but where could I find one and how long is the cl. I live in south texas
